1st Conference - 1991

The ISC first time organised the conference at Dishom Jaherthan Complex (the then Bihar) India for three days - 13th - 15th December, 1991. Mr. Lalu Prasad Yadav, the then Chief Minister of Bihar, Graced the occasion in the inaugural function as chief guest where as Mr. Sitaram Keshri, Welfare Minister, Govt. of India, blessed the occasion as Guest of Honour in concluding session. In all, 610 (six hundred ten) delegates participated in the conference representing India, Nepal and Bangladesh. The representatives of Bangladesh are Sarbashri John Marandi, Anthony Topno, Karlus Murmu and Benjamin Soren actively participated it is worth mentioning here. Two delegates were present from Nepal namely Mr. Tursa Hembrom and Mr. Jayram Murmu. The topic for deliberation was centred on Santali Language and Literature. The 1st conference was concluded well with the blessing of Mr. Sitaram Keshri, Welfare Minister, Govt. of India. The council members noted the helps and support given by various corporate houses, businessman, Social workers and others with thanks.
